Who Is Eligible?
If you are a San Francisco resident and receive Medi-Cal benefits, you may be eligible for In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS), allowing you to stay safely in your own home as an alternative to out-of-home placement.
Steps to Enroll
1 Are you a Medi-Cal Recipient?
You must have Medi-Cal to qualify for IHSS. Call Human Services Agency (HSA) to Enroll: 415-558-4700
2 Apply for IHSS Services
Call San Francisco's Department of Aging and Adult Services (DAAS) to Enroll: 415-355-6700
3 Get assessed by an IHSS Social Worker
DAAS will send a Social Worker to complete an IHSS intake and assess your in-home needs.
4 Notification of Services
If approved, you will receive a notice in the mail with the number of authorized hours. You can then get IHSS services started.
5 Find a Provider
If you don't have a friend, family member or chosen care Provider, the San Francisco IHSS Public Authority will help you find one. Call: 415-243-4477
